Ixioides

It is a medium size species, growing 15 - 23 cm across and about 14cm in height at maturity.  It form a spreading rosette.  The leaves are stiff and brittle.  The flowers are bright yellow (an uncommon characteristic in tillandsias).  It adapts well to a variety of conditions, but as with all species, one should keep in mind that light and water levels must be complementary.  It grows more rapidly with high light levels.
