Stricta

It is a medium size species, normally 12 - 15cm in width and 12 cm in height.  But the species is variable due to the wide range of habitats and conditions under which these plants grow.  The petals of the flowers are blue up to 2cm long, with somewhat flared tips.  It needs moderately damp, semi-shade conditions.  They are easy to grow, easy to bloom.  At bloom time, it is one of the most beautiful tillandsias,  and a great addition to any collection.
